- Bicycle training for primary school children (1st grade)

The gentle start

In this training, we explore the school surrounding on foot and observe the traffic space without bicycle. We exercise easy traffic rules in practice, observe the traffic behaviour of other road users and learn to orientate ourselves in traffic environment. 

Course content (protected space/without traffic): 

  • Short introductory about the bike
  • Clarifying traffic rules for pedestrians (preparation for traffic space)

Course content (traffic space/without bicycle): 

  • Exercising correct traffic behaviour on foot
  • Right interpretation of traffic signs
  • Observation of cyclists and other road users

 

- Bicycle training for primary school children (2nd grade)

Playful exercising

This training contains playful exercises with the bike and takes place in protected space (without traffic), only. The children can test their cycling abilities and their power of concentration in a bike ability path. 

Course content (protected space/without traffic, with bicycle): 

  • Short introductory about the bike 
  • Cycling in a playful ability path
  • Exercises for concentration when cycling
  • Clarifying traffic rules
  • Clarifying correct cycling behaviour

 

- Bicycle training for primary school children (3rd grade)

For the first time on the road

In this training, we make first experiences with the bicycle in traffic. The children learn how to cycle in traffic calmed zones and on cycle lanes and exercise easy crossing situations under the professional supervision of our bicycle trainers. 

Course content (protected space/without traffic, with bicycle): 

  • Check of bicycle equipment
  • Skill exercises on bike 
  • Clarifying traffic rules for cyclists
  • Clarifying the right cycling behaviour (preparation for traffic space)

Course content (traffic space, with bicycle): 

  • Common cycling trip in traffic calmed zones
  • Exercising easy crossing situations 

 

- Bicycle training for primary school children (4th grade)

Experts on the road

Our long runner course "Experts on the road" is the ideal preparation for the voluntary cycling proficiency test and the future cycling on streets. Key elements of the course are the correct use of traffic rules in practice and exercising a safe and prosocial cycling behaviour in traffic under the professional supervision of our bicycle trainers. 

Course content (protected space/without traffic, with bicycle): 

  • Check of bicycle equipment 
  • Skill exercises on bike
  • Clarifying traffic rules for cyclists
  • Clarifying the right cycling behaviour (preparation for traffic space)

Course content (traffic space, with bicycle): 

  • Common cycling trip in traffic calmed zones 
  • Exercising crossing situations (exercising as group and individually)
  • Exercising turning right and left (exercising as group and individually)
  • Learning to cope with stressful situations in traffic
  • Specific preparation for the voluntary cycling proficiency test (on request: common trip to the local traffic education garden)

 

- Bicycle training for children and parents  

Exercising together

In this training, children cycle together with their parents or guardians in traffic under the professional supervision of our bicycle trainers. After the common trip, useful information for the voluntary cycling proficiency test and assistance for safe cycling on the road will be given.

  • Skill exercises on bike
  • Clarifying traffic rules for cyclists
  • Clarifying the right cycling behaviour (preparation for traffic space)

- Bicycle training for secondary schools (5th grade)

On the way to independence

In this training, we repeat what the children learned in the cycling proficiency test and want to strengthen our safe and prosocial cycling behaviour. We explore the (new) school surrounding by bike, we work with cycle maps and learn to become independent in cycling in traffic.

Course content (protected space/without traffic, with bicycle): 

  • Check of bicycle equipment 
  • Skill exercises on bike
  • Repeating traffic rules for cyclists
  • Repeating the correct cycling and crossing behaviour
  • Working with road/cycle maps: How can I reach my points of interests with the bike? 

Course content (traffic space, with bicycle): 

  • Common cycling trip in traffic environment
  • Exercising crossing situations independently 
  • Exercising turning right and left independently
  • Reaching points of interests with the bike
  • Raising awareness of the benefits of cycling in the city/community
  • In case of renewed attempt of the cycling proficiency test: common trip to the local education garden (on request)
